Investec acts for Smart Metering Systems plc on its recommended offer from private equity firm KKR

About the deal

Investec’s partnership with Smart Metering Systems began when we were appointed as Joint Broker and Financial Adviser in June 2019.

Investec have previously advised the company on a number of pivotal strategic events, including a £291m asset disposal and a £175m equity fund-raise.

Since our appointment, the company has seen its value grow from a £567m market cap, to c.£1.5bn EV as per KKR’s offer.

This growth is a clear demonstration of Investec’s ability to build and maintain relationships with high quality businesses, helping them achieve their corporate ambitions.
