One day, a young entrepreneur arrived with a broken, intricate machine. The blacksmith hammered, welded, tested\u2014but the machine still stuttered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou need more than a hammer,\u201d the entrepreneur said. \u201cYou need someone who understands how the system works\u2014end to end.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The blacksmith began collecting new tools: measuring devices, precision instruments, innovative materials. But the most important tool of all was a compass. It showed where the forces were coming from\u2014and where they needed to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He realized success wasn\u2019t about force.
